Summer's Simple Things - Simple Meals from the Garden

This time of year is so special with fresh food straight out of the garden (or local farm).  It's so fun for me to come up with meals like this that utilize my most recent harvest.  This night we had...

fresh corn (picked that morning) from a local farmer, locally made organic cheese,

fried green peppers which we love to eat on...

Nick's home baked bread,

green bean and tomato salad with fresh basil and dressed lightly in olive oil and salt,

and a coleslaw made loosely following this recipe from Ann (I leave out the onion and sugar).

The essence of summer.  Light meals for hot evenings.

What are you having for dinner?!

For me, color in cooking is half the fun!!! Too bad you can't all come over and share a meal!
